Leslie Rasporich, BFA, graduated in drawing from the Fine Arts Program at the University of Calgary. She has taken a number of courses in the Red Deer Summer Art Series including hat making and icon painting and many creative art workshops at Spiritual Directions in Calgary. She has only recently taken up designing on clay, working out of the White Rabbit Studio in Invermere. She considers clay to be her canvas, a medium for bold and colorful motifs that are playful, decorative and textured. Her images of shoes express her longstanding interest in women’s fashion illustration. Others like sea horses and sun faces illustrate her view that art should express the joy and fun of life. Whether creating a design for a bowl or dish, decorating a hand stained box with an original ceramic lid or expressing her unique design talents through small objects, Leslie is excited to be working in a new medium. All of her pieces are one of a kind.
