Kyla Brown is a freelance photographer, artist and writer. As a graduate of Emily Carr Institute of Art and Design in Vancouver, British Columbia, Kyla completed her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Photography in 2003. As an innovative and creative artist, she enjoys traveling and finding inspiration for her artistic creations along the way.
Kyla invites her camera to become an extension of her eye as she connects and celebrates the world before her. Specializing in unique portraiture and artistic imaging, Kyla takes her photography into new and creative realms with her Honouring Life pieces. Acting as windows through time, Kyla’s art creates a voice that can shout, laugh or whisper with resonating clarity.
Through the integration of photographs with personalized writing, an Honouring Life piece explores the celebration of memory, the layering of meaning and the marriage of image with text. Kyla’s art is available as existing pieces for purchase, or on a commissioned basis where the final image portrays a unique expression of you, your loved ones or a glimpse into your life.
“My intention with this work is to act as a looking glass…
one through which you can see yourself, your world…
a moment that touches or inspires you. I believe that we are all amazing and beautiful people and that my gift to the world is to celebrate YOU.
I believe that art is an opportunity to awaken.
I hope that when you look at my work you see something of your own life, your own history and walk away trusting
the profound discovery of every moment…
for that is why I do what I do.”
