Kyla Gent (nee Brown) is a local freelance photographer, artist and writer. A graduate of Emily Carr Institute of Art and Design in Vancouver, British Columbia, Kyla completed her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Photography in 2003 and started her photography business Kyla Brown Photography. As an innovative and creative artist, she enjoys traveling and finding inspiration for her artistic creations along the way.
Kyla invites her camera to become an extension of her eye as she connects and celebrates the world before her. In addition to her photographic work, Kyla is also passionate about automatic writing and drawing where she explores her creativity joyfully. ‘Lucent Imagery’ a line that takes her creativity into new and creative realms with her writing and personal artwork. This line brings Kyla’s journal drawings and writings out into the world where she sets them free.
“My intention with this work is to share it with others… I see each piece as a thread that offers a connection.
A place where you might share a moment and feel a stirring that touches or inspires you.
I believe that art is an opportunity to awaken.
I hope that when you look at my work you see something of your own life, your own history and walk away trusting
the profound discovery of every moment…”
